Life Story for Birdie Testerman

BIRDIE TESTERMAN, age 94 years of Pylesville, MD died at the Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation Center at 5:18 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Her husband of 55 years, Peter Testerman died on October 24, 1994.

Mrs. Testerman was born in Asheville, NC on April 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Willy and Becky (Hamm) Sexton. She was a member of the Sallas Creek Baptist Church in Piney Creek, NC for several years and later a member of the Sharon Freewill Gospel Baptist Tabernacle in Jarrettsville, MD. She loved church, but in recent years her illness prevented her from attending as often as she would have liked.

Mrs. Testerman moved to Harford County over 65 years ago. In addition to dairy farming with her late husband, Mrs. Testerman provided private care for both Stella Laird and Edith Reeves.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Marie Bischof of Louisville, KY
Thelma Lowe of New Park, PA
Louise Wakeman of Dover, PA
Mabel Grover of Glen Arm, MD
Darlene Amos of Darlington, MD
Linda Sue Crumm of Clarington, OH

One sister, Annie Adams of Lansing, NC

She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Testerman was preceded in death by two brothers; Wally Sexton and Buford Sexton; two sisters; Ethel Richardson and Alice Black in addition to her grandson, Justin Testerman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Baptist View Church, 2718 Sharon Road, Forest Hill, MD 21050.

Elder J. Fred Wyatt will officiate.

Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Viewings will be held at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA on Sunday, November 11 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
