Life Story for Lacy Maxwell Cassady

Lacy Maxwell  Cassady
LACY MAXWELL CASSADY, of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Whiteford, died on Monday, January 14, 2013 in her home with her devoted husband of 43 years, Jesse J. Cassady at her side.

Born on August 31, 1917 in Elk Creek, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Rex and Janet (Russell) Maxwell. Mrs. Cassady had worked a statistical assistant for the United States Government where she met her husband, Jesse. Mrs. Cassady retired in 1970 and during her retirement years, she and her husband purchased a farm registered as a historical site of Cecil County in 1976. They spent the next 20 years restoring the house and buildings. On the farm, the Cassadys boarded thoroughbred horses and cared for the active orchard.

In 2002, the farm was sold, and they moved to Florida to be closer to her son and his family. The Cassadys were known to be together wherever they went and devoted themselves to each other as they journeyed through life.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:
A son, C. Dale Rank of Winter Haven, Florida

Two brothers-
Robert Maxwell and his wife, Katherine of York, Pennsylvania
Colonel Richard Maxwell , USAF retired, and his wife, Beryl of Bloxham, Oxfordshire, England.

Four grandchildren and four great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Sadler and brother, Russell Maxwell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, the 19th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor James Johnson of Dublin United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in Emory Cemetery, Street, Maryland.
