Obituary for Linda Rae Glackin

Linda Rae  Glackin
LINDA RAE GLACKIN, age 62 years of Delta, PA died at York Hospital on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 4:40 p.m. after a courageous battle with illness for more than 30 years. She was the wife of Joseph V. Glackin, Jr. They observed their 44th. wedding anniversary on June 4, 2013.

Linda was born in Great Falls, MT on August 6, 1951 a daughter of the late Robert T. Johnsen and Margaret E. (Feiden) Reeve. She was a 1969 graduate of the C.M. Russell High School in Great Falls where she managed the former Russell Stover Candies store. Linda and Joe moved to Delta following his discharge from the U.S. Air Force. She later worked at the former E.J. Korvette store in Bel Air, MD and the former Tom’s Super Thrift in Cardiff, MD in addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
Her pastimes included needlepoint and ceramics. She loved horses and was very fond of her home state of Montana.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children:

Lisa D. Carroll and her husband Christopher of Delta
Joseph J. Glackin and his wife Erin of Street, MD
Jonathon L. Glackin of Delta.

One brother: Robert D. Johnsen of Street, MD

Three grandchildren: Josie and Jenna Carroll and Emerson Glackin.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Terry L. Johnsen.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, April 3 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1021 St. Mary’s Road, Pylesville, MD 21132.

Reverend A. Henry Kunkel, III will be the celebrant.

Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, April 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the church at the above address or to the American Cancer Society, 3886 Ridgewood Rd, York, PA 17406
