Life Story for Lois Jane Kohler Johnson
LOIS JANE (KOHLER) JOHNSON, age 83 years of Street, MD passed away at Top of the Hill Assisted Living in Street, MD on Saturday, April 19, 2014. She was the wife of the late William Walter Johnson. Born on May 24, 1930 in Street, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Edward Charles and Myrtle Olivia (Forwood) Kohler.
Retiring in 1990, Mrs. Johnson had worked at Dublin Elementary School. A member at Church of the Ascension since 1951, she had been active with the Women’s Guild. She will be remembered for her kindness and love for her family.
She is survived by:
Two daughters-
Barbara Fincham and her husband, Ed of Street, MD
Janet Almony, also of Street
Four granddaughters-Christina Wooten, Jessica, Kelly and Jamie Almony.
A great granddaughter, Abigail Wooten.
A sister, Cecelia Hamilton of Street, MD, four nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Ann Heathcott; two sisters-Alverta Rhodes and Winifred Livezey and brother, Charles L. Kohler.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 3015 Dublin Road, Street, MD with Reverend Nick McDonald officiating.
Interment will follow in Darlington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to her church, c/o Mr. Gregory Buckler, 3460 Mill Green Road, Street, MD 21154.
