Mary P. Johnson, age 92 years of Delta, PA passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the home of her son, John and daughter-in-law, Sandy. She was the wife of the late Vincent A. Johnson who died in 1987.

Born on January 13, 1922 in Delta, PA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Pearl (Matthews) Linkous. Mary was employed at Aberdeen Proving Ground during World War II and Edgewood Arsenal following the war. She also owned and operated her own Beauty Shop while living in Harrisburg, PA. Upon moving back to the Delta area, she worked for 38 years for the former Whiteford Packing Company as a lab technician, retiring in 1992.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She also loved playing Bingo at the Delta Senior Center and the Slate Ridge Post #182, American Legion, Whiteford, MD and was known for her love of animals. Her memberships include AARP Chapter #24, York, PA and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Chapter #331. She was a lifelong member of the Gatchellville Community of Christ.

Two sons John V. Johnson and his wife Sandy of Fawn Grove, PA
C. Robert (Bob) Johnson and his wife Joyce of Whiteford, MD

Daughter-in Law Marcia Johnson of Delta, PA

Also surviving are her grandchildren; Miki, Kate, Micah, Courtney, Clara and Vincent and her great grandchildren; Brandon, Zachary, Alyssa and Emmett.

She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Johnson and her siblings, Paul Linkous, Sr., Robert Linkous and Janet Krebs-Messer.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Elder Scott Vojcsik officiating.

Burial will be in Fawn Grove Cemetery.

Following the committal services at Fawn Grove Cemetery, a time of fellowship and refreshment will be observed at the Slate Ridge Post #182, American Legion, 2217 Whiteford Road, Whiteford, MD.

Pallbearers will be: John V. Johnson, C. Robert Johnson, Micah Johnson, Everett Linkous, Richard Johnson and Peter Tutalo.
