Life Story for James Douglas Darnell

JAMES DOUGLAS DARNELL, age 62 years, died on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in his Pylesville, MD home. He was the husband of Ruth Gail (Lambert) Darnell, and on September 28th they would have celebrated their 23rd anniversary.

Born on November 6, 1951 in Laurel Springs, NC, he was a son of the late Walter James and Zadie (Bowling) Darnell. Mr. Darnell had been employed from 1994 to 2013 as a steel worker for Formit Steel Company in Red Lion, PA. He was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
A daughter, Stacy Lynn Rocco of Pasadena, MD

A stepson, Dennis Royal and his wife, Mary of Marshville, NC

Three additional stepchildren of Harford County

Four siblings, all living in North Wilkesboro, NC
Lucille Brown and her husband, Pete;
Ella Mae Faw
Wiley Darnell
Pete Darnell

Three grandchildren- Ashley, Zoƫ and Colton

Eleven step grandchildren

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 3135 Dublin Road, Street, MD 21154 where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

His pastor, Reverend Tracy J. Duvall will officiate.

Interment will be in Dublin Southern Cemetery, Darlington, MD.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to his church at the above address.
