Life Story for O. Bailey Pomraning

O. Bailey  Pomraning
O. BAILEY POMRANING, age 92 years of Delta, PA, died on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Victorian Villa Personal Care in Dallastown, PA. He was the husband of Alice Jeane Pomraning who died on January 25, 2007.

Born on November 1, 1921 in the Lower Chanceford Township area of York, Co., PA, he was a son of the late Harry Bailey and Mary Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Pomraning. A dairy farmer, Mr. Pomraning had also driven a truck for PennDOT and worked for the Bechtel Corporation in the construction of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station.

Mr. Pomraning also worked in maintenance at Peach Bottom followed by working for Muddy Run Park in Holtwood, PA as a groundskeeper until his retirement. He was active with the Mason-Dixon Lions Club and the Airville V.F. C. as well as a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church.

He is survived by:
Four children-
Linda A. Kauffman of Delta, PA
Hilda M. Kauffman and her husband, Porter P. of Delta, PA
Martin B. Pomraning and his wife, Carol A. of Airville, PA
Lee E. Pomraning and his fiancée, Lesa Criley of Aspers, PA

Ten grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren

A sister, Maude Walker of York, PA

He was preceded in death by two siblings: Joseph S. Pomraning and Mary Ann Wise.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

A second visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. followed immediately by the funeral service at Salem United Methodist Church, 5042 Delta Road, Delta, PA 17314. Mr. Richard Sharrock, C.L.M. will officiate with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to his church at the above address or to the Mason-Dixon Lions Club, P.O. Box 158, Delta, PA 17314
