Life Story for M. Frances Birley

M. Frances   Birley
M. FRANCES BIRLEY, age 93 years of Fawn Grove, PA, formerly of Cardiff, MD, died on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. She was the wife of Glen M. Birley who died on February 20, 1967.

Born on October 28, 1920 in Banger, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Ethel (Thompson) Roberts. Mrs. Birley was a 1938 graduate of the former Delta High School and was a 56 year member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church in Cardiff, MD. A homemaker, she also was a member of the John S. Murphy V.F.W. Post # 7130 Ladies Auxiliary in Delta, PA. For the last two years of her life, Mrs. Birley lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Fawn Grove.

She is survived by:
Two children-
Pamela S. Moore and her husband, Charles of Fawn Grove, PA
Robert G. Birley and his wife, Pat of New Park, PA

Five grandchildren-
Glenna Mattlin, Julie Kurek, Jill Evans, Jason Birley and Amy Birley

Five great grandchildren-
Bradley Mattlin, Ryan Mattlin, Austin Birley, Chandler Schmidt and Ava Schmidt

A great-great granddaughter, Karrie Mattlin

Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister and her husband, Dorothy R. and Harvey Stewart, Jr.

Services and interment will be private.

Her family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Senator Bob Hooper House, 2007 Klein Plaza Drive, Forest Hill, MD 21050.
