Life Story for William Clarence Delp

William Clarence  Delp
WILLIAM “CLARENCE” DELP, age 88 years of Whiteford, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, MD. He was the husband of Jean Elizabeth (McKinley) Delp with whom he had shared 67 years of marriage.

Born on November 5, 1925 in Whiteford, MD, he was a son of the late Strawder and Molly (Hash) Delp. Clarence graduated from the former Slate Ridge High School in Cardiff, MD, and continued his education at the Thompson Business School in York, PA. Clarence and his brother, Bud owned and operated a dairy farm in Whiteford for many years. In the late 1960’s, they sold the farm and opened the Conowingo Inn in Conowingo, MD that they successfully operated until 1980's when they sold the business and retired. Clarence was a member of Slateville Presbyterian Church and the local branch of the Odd Fellows. His family loved him deeply and greatly respected him; he cherished the times they spent together. Clarence enjoyed watching Oriole ballgames and eating steamed crabs.

In addition to his wife,
A daughter, Christine Gail Garver and her husband, Richard of Havre de Grace, MD

A son, Stephen A. Delp and his wife, Donna of Whiteford, MD

Two grandchildren-
Seth Delp of Delta
Sommer Delp of Darlington

Four great grandchildren

A brother and six sisters in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

All services will be private.
