Life Story for Dorothy Williams Pickard
DOROTHY WILLIAMS PICKARD, age 91 years of Delta, PA formerly of Havre de Grace, MD went to be with God on Monday, October 13, 2014. Dorothy was a devoted Christian of the United Methodist Church of Havre de Grace where she had sang alto in the church choir for over 50 years and currently a member of Bryansville United Methodist Church in Delta. During WWII, Dorothy was employed as a secretary at Aberdeen Proving Ground, but more importantly were her years as a loving wife to both of her late husbands and mother to her four daughters. She was a seamstress, homemaker, avid crossword puzzle worker and loved to do counted cross stitch.
She is survived by:
Sandra Cullum and her husband, Lewis of Perryville, MD
Donna Barker and her husband, William of Havre de Grace, MD
Kerry Ciborowski and her husband, Steven of Delta, PA
Dawn Adkins and her husband, Douglas of Jarrettsville, MD
Robert Pickard of Bel Air, MD
Carol Dennis of Sparks, MD
Her devoted brother, Sidney Williams, Sr.
Nine grandchildren-
Amy Kunlev, Scott Dennis, Christopher Barker, Jocelyn Barker, Aaron Hopkins, Andrew Barker,
Allison Hopkins, Jennie Ciborowski and Susan Ciborowski.
Eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Theresa and Frederick Williams, Sr.,
Her husbands, Harry M. Hipple and A. Paul Pickard
Her brother, Frederick Williams, Jr.
Her granddaughter, Lindsey R. Hopkins.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Angel Hill Cemetery, 750 Ohio Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Pastor Beth Holz of the Peach Bottom Methodist Charge will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate contributions to the Memorial Association of the Bryansville United Methodist Church, 2788 Bryansville Road, Delta, PA 17314 or the charity of your choice.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Ciborowski, Douglas Adkins, William Barker, Lewis Cullum, Sidney Williams and Robert Pickard.
