Obituary for William Darryl Nelson

William Darryl  Nelson
WILLIAM DARRYL NELSON, age 69 years of Fawn Grove, PA went to live with the Lord at 4:56 a.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2014. He was the husband of Jane E. (Mays) Nelson. On November 28 they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Mr. Nelson was born in Clifton Forge, VA on February 10, 1945, a son of the late Harry and Georgia (King) Nelson. He graduated from Clifton Forge High School and continued his education in Richmond, VA. For 40 years prior to his retirement, he worked as a computer operator for CSX railroad in Baltimore.
Both a member and past master of Corinthian Lodge #93, AF&AM, Towson, MD, Mr. Nelson was also a former grand inspector for the Grand Lodge of Maryland. His other Masonic affiliations were the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Scottish Rite and the Royal Arch Masons of MD. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was active in the Citizens Volunteer Fire Co., Citizens EMS where he held several leadership positions and the Delta-Cardiff EMS where he served as an emergency medical technician.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons:

Christopher S. Nelson of Gwynn Oak, MD
Grandsons: Jeffrey M., Dylan M. and Tucker C. Nelson and granddaughter, Contessa Nelson.
Four sisters: Lois Nicely and June Carter, both of Clifton Forge, VA
Barbara Evanko of Pine Crest, FL
Ann Hancock of Lenori, NC
One brother: Harry Nelson of Mechanicsburg, VA
He was preceded in death by two sisters and his twin brother.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the Citizens Volunteer Fire Co., 171 S. Market St., Fawn Grove, PA 17321 with Chaplain Douglas Winward officiating.
