Life Story for Charlotte M. Thompson (Bechtol)

Charlotte M.  Thompson (Bechtol)
CHARLOTTE M. THOMPSON, age 90 years of Joppa, MD, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Married on June 20, 1954, she and her late husband, Joseph had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before his passing this past July 2nd.

A daughter of the late George Ira and Della (Allen) Bechtol, she was born on February 12, 1924 in Mill Hall, PA, where she had many relatives. Mrs. Thompson had been an employee of the Continental Can Company in Baltimore where she had met her husband and continued in their employment until the birth of their first son. She was proud to be a full time mother and homemaker, enjoying quilting, reading detective stories and studying her Bible. She was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Dublin, MD.

She is survived by:

Mark W. Thompson of Antelope, CA
Steve R. Thompson of North East, MD

A sister, Pauline Hunter of Mill Hall, PA

A brother, Donald E. Bechtol of Sebring, FL

Two grandchildren, Christopher and Shannon Plourde, who called their grandmother "Bootsy."

Five great grandchildren, Sean, Alyssa, Jacob and Joshua Plourde and Sabrina Evans.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest E. Bechtol.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 3135 Dublin Road, Street, MD 21154.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church with her pastor, Reverend Tracy J. Duvall officiating.

Interment will be beside her beloved husband in Mountain Christian Cemetery, Fallston, MD.

In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
