Obituary for Wendell Richard Hoskins

Wendell Richard  Hoskins
WENDELL RICHARD HOSKINS, age 58 years, of Delta, PA died at his home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. He was the husband of Betsy J. (nee Brown) Hoskins. They observed their 22nd wedding anniversary on September 5.

Born in Baltimore, MD on July 31, 1956, Wendell was a son of the late Mathias Deming and Norma (nee White) Hoskins. A graduate of Northern High School, he was employed for 26 years with Becton, Dickinson and Company in Hunt Valley, MD where he worked as an injection molding mechanic.
Wendell was a great sports fan, especially of the Orioles and Ravens whose games he attended frequently. For several years he coached his daughter Dawn’s softball team in Fawn Grove, PA.
Wendell was a kind, considerate person and a friend to all. He loved his family, and they describe him as the “glue” that helped keep them connected. Wendell hosted most all of the family gatherings.

In addition to his wife, Betsy, Wendell is survived by:

Two daughters, Dawn E. Hoskins of Delta, PA
Rhonda A. Taylor of Havre de Grace, MD

One stepson Scott Behlert of Lionville, PA

One sister, Christine E. Jackson of Bel Air, MD

Two brothers, Robert D. Hoskins and his wife, Sandra of White Marsh, MD
Gregory A. Ross and his wife, Jessica of Perryville, MD

Also survived by six step-grandchildren

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
