Life Story for Mary D. Williams

MARY D. WILLIAMS, 97 years of Washington Boro, PA, died on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community in Columbia, PA. Married on June 24, 1936 to Harold A. Williams, they had shared 74 years of marriage at the time of his death on August 11, 2010.

Born in Bull Run, VA on December 16, 1917, Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late Strawder and Mollie (Hash) Delp and previously lived in Willow Street. She was a homemaker enjoying gardening and was known to have special interests in Lancaster County Arts and History. She was a former member of the Lancaster County Art Association and the Green Acres Garden Club.

She is survived by:
Two children-
Harold A. Williams, Jr., and his wife, Dorothy of Willow Street, PA
Carol W. Goss and her husband, Edwin of Columbia, PA

Two sisters
Martha Louise Hamilton and her husband, Ben of Willow Street, PA
Joan Moxley of Madera, CA

Two half-sisters:
Veda Cooper and her husband, Ramsey of Whiteford, MD
Eva Cole and her husband, Bobby of Whiteford, MD

A half-brother, Dan Delp and his wife, Josey of Whiteford, MD

Three grandchildren - James B. Williams, H. Michael Williams and Heidi Wilson

Four great grandchildren – Robert James Williams, Harold Francis Williams, Kaitlyn Wilson and Caroline Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Granville, Robert, Clarence, John, Ethel, Ruth, Edna and Frances.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.

Chaplain Daniel Derk will officiate with interment in Slateville Cemetery, Delta, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lancaster County Hospice, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
