Life Story for Minnie Bay Lowe

Minnie Bay  Lowe
MINNIE EDNA (BAY) LOWE, age 94 years of Fawn Grove, PA died in her home at 9:08 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015. She was the wife of William B. Lowe. They observed their 71st wedding anniversary on August 14, 2014.
Born in Whiteford, MD on February 24, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Pauline (Heaps) Bay. Mrs. Lowe was a graduate of the former Highland High School, Goldey-Beacom College and was employed for 32 years by the former York National Bank in Fawn Grove. She was also instrumental in her husband’s Nationwide insurance agency, often working with him before going to the bank and after returning each day. In the evenings, Mrs. Lowe accomplished her job as the Fawn Grove tax collector. Shortly after her retirement, she began volunteering in the office at the Shrewsbury Lutheran Village and continued to do so for approximately fifteen years.
A longtime member of the Fawn United Methodist Church, Mrs. Lowe served as church organist and pianist from 1955 – 1985.
Her hobbies included coin collecting and knitting, always making special sweaters for her children and grandchildren.

David M. Lowe and his wife, Anita M. of Fawn Grove, PA
Son-in-law: Sterling C. Shelley, Jr. of Fawn Grove, PA
One sister: Annie B. Webb of Delta, PA
One brother: D. Wilson Bay of Annapolis, MD
Seven grandchildren: William T. Lowe, Michael J. Lowe, Jason S. Lowe, Bradley J. Lowe, Christa (Shelley) Craig, Jeannie (Lowe) Malott and Karen (Lowe) Riehl.
Also survived by ten great grandchildren.
Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith (Lowe) Shelley and her sister, Dorothy Cooksey.
A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, March 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fawn United Methodist Church, 67 S. Market Street, Fawn Grove, PA 17321
Her pastor, Reverend David W. Stough will officiate.
Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
