Obituary for George W. Gascon, Sr.

George Wilson Gascon, Sr., 69, Frankford, WV, formerly of Delta, PA, died May 15, 2015. George was born in York, PA on April 1, 1946 to the late Minarod J. Gascon, Sr. and Pauline S. (Singleton) Gascon. He was the loving husband of Linda M. (Hedrick) Gascon, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 24, 2015.
George and Linda met in 1959 at a teen dance at the current Delta Senior Center. George retired in February 2008 after 39 years from Henkels & McCoy, Inc. as a field mechanic. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 126. He loved working on and talking about old cars, and spending time in his “Garagemahal”. He was a member of the Throttle Throbs Car Club.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by his son, George, Jr., and his wife, Tina, of Street, MD, his daughter, Laura Winemiller and her husband, Brian, of Delta, PA, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a brother, Donald E. Gascon; a half-brother, Minarod Gascon, Jr. and his beloved cat, RC “Replacement Cat”.
He was preceded in death by brothers, James A. Gascon and Robert E. Gascon.

Services were held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Harkins Funeral Home, Delta, with interment in Slateville Cemetery, Delta,
