Life Story for John H. McMillan

JOHN H. MCMILLAN, 79 years of Darlington, MD, died on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. He was the husband of Frances Jean Clark and on August 16th they would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

Born on February 11, 1936 in Nathans Creek, NC, he was the youngest of ten children of the late Thomas Jefferson and Susie Elizabeth (Miller) McMillan. At a young age, his family moved to Maryland where he was a 1955 graduate of North Harford High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving December 1958 – 1960. Retiring in 1986 with 30 years of service, he had worked for former Bethlehem Steel Corporation. For many years, he raised Hereford beef cattle and enjoyed “tinkering” on farm machinery. Family was very important to him, and he cherished times spent together.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by;
Two sons-
Michael John McMillan and his fiancée, JoAnne Booth of Aberdeen, MD
Jeffery Dean McMillan and his wife, Elizabeth of Darlington, MD

Four grandchildren-Robbie, Travis, Rachel and Tyler McMillan.

He was preceded in death by:
A son, Kelly Thomas McMillan in 1982 and nine brothers and sisters.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Reverend Gerald T. Brown, Woodberry Bible Church, will officiate.

Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
