Life Story for Emma "Tina" Hafferman-Rocha
EMMA A. “TINA” HAFFERMAN-ROCHA, 96 years of Pylesville, MD, died on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in her home. She was the wife of John Hafferman who passed away in August 1982 and the late Claude Rocha.
Tina was born on February 22, 1919 in the Netherlands and raised in Belgium. Upon her marriage to John Hafferman, she came to the United States, establishing her citizenship in 1955. Tina raised her family in the community of Silvan Shores, MD, with her late husband. Additionally, Tina enjoyed many years in the small town of Riva, MD where she was actively involved in the community. She took great pride in the stature of her family, instilling her faith and spirituality while being sure the Native American Culture was not left behind.
After the passing of her husband, John, Tina relocated to sunny Florida, where she met Claude Rocha. After several years of retirement, Claude and Tina moved to Pylesville, MD, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
Tina loved to travel, especially to the beach and met many people within her adventurous lifetime. She attended St. Mary Catholic Parish in Pylesville, MD. Tina will be terribly missed by the lives she touched. As she always said "It’s not goodbye, it’s see ya soon."

Two children-
Chantel Scheck and her husband, Butch of Pylesville, MD
John U. Hafferman and his wife, Terry of Denton, MD
A brother, Albert Van Heuck of Belgium
Two sisters, both of Belgium, Armanda Van Heuck and Susan Van Heuck.
Six grandchildren-Renee, Marsha, Luke, John, Steve and Tina
Six great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Van Heuck.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 – 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta with the funeral service beginning at 8 p.m.
There will not be any public inurnment services.
In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to Amedisys Hospice #5014, 7106 Ridge Road, Suite 100, Rosedale, MD 21237.
