Life Story for Lee Roy Carter, Sr.

Lee Roy  Carter, Sr.
LEE ROY CARTER, SR., 77 years of Brogue, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Born on August 27, 1938 in Duffield, VA, he was a son of the late Edward F. and Myrtle G. (Vaughn) Carter. Married on July 9, 1958, he was the widower of Shirley Mae (Aubel) Carter who passed away in 2010.

Mr. Carter was a stone mason by trade teaching his sons to follow in his footsteps and a remarkable grandfather by nature. He often enjoyed watching TV with his great grandchildren and snuggling them close. He was an avid fan of Fox News and CNN and enjoyed discussing politics with family and friends. Lee was an avid guitar player; he enjoyed playing and singing country, bluegrass and gospel music. He would tinker with all kinds of projects; working on his car was a particular favorite along with yardwork and planting flowers. Years ago he loved taking scenic rides with his late wife Shirley. He was a member of the New Life Church of God in Jarrettsville, MD.

He is survived by:

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark W. Warfield of New Life Church of God officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fawn Grove, PA.
