Life Story for William B. Lowe

William B.  Lowe
William B. Lowe, 95, passed away on August 3, 2016, at his home after a brief illness. Born on January 25, 1921, he was the son of the late L. Martin and Hattie (Gray) Lowe. He was the husband of Minnie (Bay) Lowe who preceded him in March 2015; the two having celebrated 72 years of marriage.

After graduating from the former Highland High School in 1939, Bill began his working career as a farmer on the family farm in Pylesville, MD, but soon thereafter became a Nationwide Insurance agent in the Fawn Grove/Stewartstown area. He also served as civil defense coordinator along with a host of volunteer jobs in his church (Fawn United Methodist) and community. Bill was also a member of the Masons having served some seventy years in the Friendship Masonic Lodge 663 F&AM in Fawn Grove. Bill enjoyed watching and participating in all sports, especially baseball, football, bowling, fishing and golf.

Bill is survived by:

2 sons-
William W. Lowe and his wife, Anne W. Lowe of Red Lion, PA
David M. Lowe and his wife, Anita Lowe of Fawn Grove, PA

A son-in-law-
Sterling Shelley and his family from Fawn Grove, PA

7 grandchildren

10 great grandchildren

Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith (Lowe) Shelley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Fawn United Methodist Church at 67 S. Market St. Fawn Grove, PA 17321. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend David W. Stough.

Interment will immediately follow in the Fawn Grove Cemetery adjacent to the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Fawn United Methodist Church at the above address.
