Obituary for Jane E. Huff

Jane E. Huff
Jane Ellicott Huff, age 88 of Street, MD, died at her home at 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. She was the wife of Delmer Thomas Huff, with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage on June 25, 2016.

Mrs. Huff was born in Baltimore, MD on February 21, 1928, the daughter of the late David Brown Ellicott and Icelene Thompson Ellicott. A 1945 graduate of the former Dublin High School and 1947 graduate of Strayer Business College, Mrs. Huff was employed by Harford Mutual Insurance Co. in Bel Air for seven years before marrying and taking on the responsibilities of a farm wife.

Mrs. Huff was a lifetime member of the Church of the Ascension, faithfully serving as the church organist for 72 years before retiring from this ministry in 2012 for health reasons. She was a member of the Ladies and Altar Guilds, and also served for many years as a Sunday School teacher and co-treasurer along with her husband.

Mrs. Huff was known for her sense of humor and love of music, and enjoyed sing-a-longs with family and friends at the piano. An avid gardener who loved flowers, she also canned many things from her garden. Most importantly, she valued kindness, integrity, humility, and faith, traits which she exemplified and imparted to her family.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Huff is survived by two children: John Michael Huff and his wife Jenifer Louise Huff of Street, MD and Susan Jane Huff of Woodbridge, VA.

Grandchildren Michael Emory, Patrick Andrew, and Samuel Ian Huff, also of Street.
