Obituary for Samuel R. Wilson, Jr.

Samuel R.  Wilson, Jr.
SAMUEL RAYMOND WILSON, JR., 89, of Street, MD died, December 7, 2016 at Dacota Broad Creek Assisted Living facility in Whiteford, MD. He was the loving husband of Mary Sexton Wilson with whom he would have celebrated 20-years of marriage next month. A lifelong Harford County resident, born May 24, 1927, he was a son of the late S. Raymond and Fannie (Schuster) Wilson.

At the young age of 15, Samuel became responsible for the family farm when his father passed away.  He loved farming and continued the family farm tradition while balancing his career as a computer programming analyst in the corporate world.  He was an active member of the Highland Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir.  Samuel enjoyed skating and all types of dance, particularly square dancing.  He was genuinely interested in the lives of his children and grandchildren who he loved dearly.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Three children –
Donna Wilson of Street, MD
Carol Wilson of Parkville, MD
Samuel Raymond Wilson, III of Street, MD

Two grandchildren-
Ryan Wilson
Stephanie Wilson

He is preceded by his former wife Ruth (Pritchard) Wilson with whom he shared 35 years of marriage prior to her death.

A viewing will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Highland Presbyterian Church, 701 Highland Rd, Street, MD 21154 where the funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow in Highland Cemetery.  Highland pastor, The Reverend Ray Meute, Jr. will officiate.
