BONNIE J. WITTEN, 83 years, of Delta, PA died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Madonna Heritage Assisted Living in Jarrettsville, MD. Born July 24, 1933, in Independence, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Murray Rudolph and Mattie Virginia (Anders) Moretz. She was a loving wife of 50-years to the late Peter E. Witten who passed on June 3, 2013 and the widow of Leslie C. Jones Sr. who died November 25, 1958.

After marrying, Bonnie and Pete moved to Delta where they owned and operated Jones and Witten’s restaurant from 1963 to 1974. Over the years she had various jobs including operating her own in home day care. She later became a baker and bakery manager at Tom’s Super Market from 1988 to 1991 and at Sauble’s Super Market from 1991 until her retirement in February 2009. Bonnie enjoyed crafting and cooking, there was likely nothing she couldn’t create or bake from scratch.

She is preceded by her brother, Harold Lee Moretz of Churchville, MD.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9:30 - 11 a.m. in Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St. Delta, PA where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Beth Holz of the Peach Bottom Charge. Interment will be in Darlington Cemetery immediately following the service. Parking attendants are available to assist you upon arrival.
