Obituary for Wanda Kay Jones

Wanda  Kay  Jones
WANDA K. JONES, 69 years of Delta, PA, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Jacob’s Well Assisted Living in Bel Air. Born on February 15, 1948 in York, PA, Wanda was the daughter of the late Marvin ‘Sing’ and Mabel (Smith) Jones.

Wanda worked in civil service for over 35 years including many years with social security. She also worked part time tending bar at the Slate Ridge American Legion Post #182 in Whiteford, MD. Wanda had a variety of interests throughout her lifetime; spending time at the river, hosting 4th of July Parade picnics, creating silk flower arrangements and collecting and making baskets.

She is survived by:

Many cousins, of which she has special relationships with Darlene J. Sturgill, Carmen L. Humenik, Mary Lou Richard, and Jeanette Scotten

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St. Delta, PA where the funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend James B. Shuler of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church. Interment will immediately follow at Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA.

In memory of Wanda, contributions can be sent to the Slate Ridge American Legion Post #182, 2217 Whiteford Rd, Whiteford, MD 21160.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Jacob's Well for the outstanding care and comfort they provided throughout her stay with them.
