Life Story for Lowell R. Garrett

LOWELL RAY GARRETT of Darlington, MD passed on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. He was 76 years old and the husband of Mary F. Leftwich for 11 years.

Lowell was born in Street, MD on the family farm and was a son of the late Ray W. and Mary E. (Tomlinson) Garrett. Mr. Garrett attended the former Slate Ridge School in Whiteford until 1950 when the new North Harford High School opened. Lowell attended there until his graduation in 1954, driving one of the school busses during his senior year. When the family sold the cattle, Lowell went to work at Plaza Ford as an automotive technician until 1985. Over the years while working full time, he assisted his older brother, William (Bill) Garrett in his Harley Davidson Motorcycle dealership in Darlington.

Mr. Garrett was the owner/operator of Garrett Bus, LLC from 1973 until the time of his death. He thoroughly enjoyed his antique cars – especially his 1940 Chevrolet.
