Obituary for Albert L. McGuigan

Albert L. McGuigan, 87, of Whiteford, Maryland, died on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Albert was married to Dorcas E. Taylor-McGuigan on May 8, 1995, allowing them to share 26 years of marriage.

Mr. McGuigan was born on October 19, 1933, in Whiteford, Maryland where he remained a lifelong resident until his death. He was a graduate of the former Slate Ridge School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army. Mr. McGuigan made his living as a lineman, working for PECO and Delmarva Power Companies. He retired on December 1, 1991 after serving a combined 37 years of service to the industry. Although he worked as a lineman, Albert’s true passion was working his farm. He enjoyed International tractors, attending farm sales and tinkering with miscellaneous “winter” projects to fix and resell. Albert loved his family and as a mischievous man, he always shared a smile and a wink.

He attended Calvary Chapel of Delta and was a past member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, Albert is survived by a daughter, Michelle Denise Foltzer and significant other, Perry of Whiteford, Maryland. He is also survived by a sister, Norma J. W. Boyd of Whiteford, Maryland and a brother, Thomas M. McGuigan and wife, Pat, of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, three grandsons; Joseph Foltzer, Justin Foltzer and significant other, Victoria, Joshua Foltzer and significant other, Allie. His two great grandchildren, Hailey and Jaxson will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis E. McGuigan, III.

Funeral services will be held at Calvary Chapel of Delta on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Doug McClean officiating. There will be a reception at Calvary Chapel following the service, where the family will greet guests. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to Calvary Chapel of Delta, 5911 Delta Road, Delta, PA 17314.
