Obituary for Amanda Diehl Gemmill

AMANDA LOUISE (DIEHL) GEMMILL 40, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in her Delta, PA home with her loving husband by her side. Married on December 4, 2010, she was the wife of Gregory D. Gemmill for 11 years.

Born on September 9, 1981 in York, PA, Mandy was a 2000 graduate of York Suburban High School and a 2005 graduate of the Philadelphia University with a degree in fashion design. During her studies, she traveled to Rome, Italy where she attended the American University of Rome. Mandy thoroughly enjoyed the Italian culture and cuisine. Following school, she worked in several sales-related positions for firms within the York area.

More recently, Mandy was a homemaker devoting her energy and love in raising their two young girls. She was a member of Fawn United Methodist Church where she was involved in church activities and participated with a Moms’ Group at Living Word Church in York. Mandy was a faith filled follower and true disciple of Jesus Christ with an absolute faithfulness to her Lord, her husband and her family. Mandy brought much joy to hearts of many in sharing her kind spirit and many artistic talents. She had an unparalleled attention to detail in everything she did including party planning of the children’s birthday celebrations.

Living on the farm, Mandy was able to immerse herself in the beauty of God’s creation. She will be remembered as a loving mother who was the center of her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:
Her daughters-Charlotte and Clara Mae of Delta; her parents-Tom and Peg Diehl of York; brother, Brad and his wife, Carissa and their children: Mya, Olivia and Noah Diehl of York.

Her husband’s family:
Parents-David and Martha Gemmill of Delta; Greg’s brothers-Steve Gemmill and his wife, Emily and their twins, Everett and Ella of York; Eric Gemmill and his wife, Jessica and their children, Tyler and Mason of Delta.

Services will be held at Fawn United Methodist Church, 67 S. Market Street, Fawn Grove, PA 17321 with a visitation from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, September 9th and the funeral service on Saturday, the 10th at 1 p.m. in the church. Pastor Tim Funk and former pastor, Reverend David W. Stough will co-officiate. In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
