Obituary for Anne L. Treakle
Life story prepared by the family: Anne Lee McKnight Treakle, 93, passed from this life into the arms of her Savior at Hart Heritage Estates in Street, MD, on March 9, 2023. Anne was born on December 11, 1929, to the late Don Porter McKnight and Zollie E. (Tompkins) McKnight. She was married to the late William Cox Treakle for 59 years before his passing in 2008.
Anne graduated from Dublin High School in 1947. Her favorite activities were horseback riding and playing basketball. Anne loved her Lord and was always found at church when services were scheduled. She spent many years in the office at Evangelical Methodist Church and Harford Christian School, ending her secretarial career at Harford Community College.
Anne is survived by her daughters, LuAnn Treakle Watkins and husband Mike of Fallston, MD, and Patricia Treakle Hudson and husband Michael, Sr. of Palatka, FL. Also surviving Anne are grandchildren Amy Watkins Stark (Neal), Kristin Hudson, Michael Hudson, Jr. (Megan), Renee Hudson Anderson (Zach) and Andrew Watkins (Veronika) along with great grandchildren Emma, Katie, and Libby Stark, Claire, Leah, and Violet Hudson, Dylan and Brooklyn Anderson, and Silas and Nathan Watkins. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother Donald McKnight, sister Anita McKnight, and granddaughter Julie Watkins.
A visitation time will be held on Thursday, March 16, from 9:30 – 10:50 AM at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 3135 Dublin Road, Street, MD 21154. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tracy Duvall, Pastor Michael Hudson, Sr., and Pastor Andrew Watkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church at the above address.
