Obituary for Carl Wayne Kennedy

Carl W. Kennedy, age 68 years of Delta, PA, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at his home on Monday, February 22, 2021.

Born on October 18, 1952, in Ft. Polk, LA, he was one of five sons of Donald Edward and Mary Francis (McLain) Kennedy. Following his father’s retirement from a United States Army career, the family settled in Ft. Bragg, Fayetteville, NC. Carl experienced a lifetime of travel, attending three years at Berlin American High School in West Berlin, Germany. Returning to the states at Ft. Meade, MD, he graduated in 1971 from Anne Arundel High School. After a short time attending the University of Maryland, he pursued a lifelong career in auto mechanics and restoration. Carl also had a career in the printing industry operating and maintaining equipment. After retirement, he naturally became the neighborhood Grandpa, Mr. Fix-It, Handyman, D.J., and Supervisor. He was an avid sports fan and loved to play golf, tennis, and keno. He was a man who met you with an open-heart, smile, no-judgment, and willingness to help in any way he could. He will be greatly missed.

Carl is also survived by multiple nephews, nieces, and friends whom he considered his family

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his son, Nathaniel Derek Kennedy

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA

The service of remembrance will begin at 6:30 p.m.
