Obituary for Charles Edward Griffin

Charles Edward Griffin, 72 of Conowingo, MD, died on Friday, January 21, 2022 in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born on June 11, 1949 in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the eldest child to the late Charles Famous Griffin and Laura (Bush) Griffin.

Known to many as Charlie, he was athletically inclined and loved playing softball and bowling. He enjoyed watching baseball, NFL football and college basketball. He relished in taking a ride on his motorcycle and lived his life the way he had wanted.

Charlie had worked for over 30 years as a pipe layer for Comer Construction and was known as a dedicated and a diligent worker. He was great with his hands and enjoyed creating and building anything from a makeshift shed to replacing and rebuilding wooden stairs; once his mind was set on doing something, Charlie was resolute and unswerving. People would often remark that Charlie was a kind and a humble man. He will be remembered as a loving father and a great friend, wonderful and caring grandfather, uncle, brother and a devoted son.

He is survived by a son, Charles Duncan Griffin (Jaydenmarie) of Reno, NV and their sons, Charles Duncan Griffin Jr. and Colt Duane Griffin; two siblings, Glenn Griffin of Bel Air, MD and Ronald Griffin (Rhonda) of Pylesville, MD.
