Obituary for Charles Wesley Brown, III

CHARLES WESLEY BROWN, III, formerly of Baltimore and Las Vegas died on April 27, 2020 at the home of his son in Fawn Grove, PA. He was the husband of Elinor Ann Brown who died on February 22, 2019.

Born in Baltimore, MD on December 26, 1947 a son of the late Charles Wesley and Mary Frances (Finnegan) Brown, Charles was a 1966 graduate of Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School in Baltimore. Following his graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force in August 1966 and served until August 1970. After returning from the service, Charles joined the Baltimore City Police Department and worked as a patrolman until he suffered a gunshot wound in the line of duty. He then became a dispatcher for the Southeastern District in Baltimore, a job he held until his retirement in 1992. Charles moved to Las Vegas following his retirement from the police force. He worked security for both Wynn Las Vegas and the Stratosphere. His hobbies and interests included target practice, boating, fishing, pinochle, chess and poker.

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his sister, Lynne Terrill

Jerry Adam Garner of Camp Pendleton, CA
Anthony R. Garner, Jr. of Burlington, VT

One brother:
Steve Brown and his wife Bonsal, of Hampstead, MD

Two sisters:
Caren Cummings of Parkville, MD
Dana Hogan of Owings Mills, MD

Seven grandchildren:
Christopher, Melinda, James, Zachary, Jessica, Tiffany and Jordan.

Seven step-grandchildren:
Brendan, Camden, Morgan, Wil, Jessica, Joy, Ruth and Jemma

Also numerous great grandchildren.

Services will be private with inurnment planned for Arlington National Cemetery in the future.
