Obituary for Charles William Richardson

LIFE STORY PREPARED BY HIS FAMILY-
Charles W. Richardson, of Havre de Grace, Maryland died Monday, January 10th, 2022, at Harford Memorial Hospital. Charles was born October 9, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of the late William Ellsworth and Hannah Walter Richardson.

A native of Harford County, he was a 1955 graduate of North Harford High School and attended Maryville College. He enlisted in the United States Army in January of 1957 and after basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, he was stationed at the Army Security Agency School in Fort Devens, Massachusetts where he trained as a Morse Interceptor. After leaving the Army, he worked at Goddard Space Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Later, he returned to Pylesville, Maryland and formed a farming partnership with his brother. When he retired, Charles moved to Havre de Grace, Maryland where he made many friends and enjoyed reading, traveling and socializing at local establishments.

Charles is survived by siblings: Nancy Richardson Jones of Pylesville, Eleanor Richardson Morris and her husband, T. Richard Morris of Matthews, North Carolina, and James Calvin Richardson and his wife, Barbara, of Pylesville, Maryland. He is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Carolyn Jones of Baltimore, MD, Scott Morris of Waxhaw, NC, Craig Morris of Jackson, WY, David Jones and Susan Jones Summerfield of Pylesville, MD, Ryan Richardson of Washington, DC, Samuel Richardson of Arlington, VA and Hannah Richardson of Baltimore, MD.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Highland Presbyterian Church, 701 Highland Road, Street, Maryland 21154 with inurnment in the adjoining church cemetery. Family visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a brief service at 12 noon.

Military honors will be presented by the Maryland National Guard Honor Guard at the graveside.
