Obituary for Christa Maria Fabian (Persich)
Christa Maria Fabian, 94, of Conowingo, MD, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Harford Memorial Hospital, in Havre de Grace, MD. Christa was born in Mikulshutz, Germany to her late parents, Alexander Fritz Persich and Else (Klarowitz) Persich.
She and her late husband, Frederick A. Fabian, a soldier in the United States Army, were wed in Germany in June of 1954. She immigrated to the United States in 1956. Together, Christa and Frederick made their home in Delta, where they raised their family. Christa was a loving woman with a Christian heart. She worked for many years at Mason Dixon Community Services, providing food and social services to the needy and hungry in the area.
She excelled at making everyone feel welcome in her home. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, gardening and playing the piano. She was of the Lutheran faith and most recently enjoyed worshiping at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, MD. Above everything else, Christa loved being surrounded by her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Christa is survived by one daughter, Catherine (Jeffery) Heaps of Rising Sun, MD. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Steven A. (Elsa) Kohlbus, of Pflugerville, TX, Danielle M. (Jacob) Ross, of Conowingo, MD, and Timothy A. (Amanda) Heaps, of Elkton, MD. She is also survived by two very special great-children, Haisley and Maverick Heaps.
In addition to her husband and parents, Christa was predeceased by two children, Terrance R. Fabian, Dorothy Irene Ross and one brother, Hans Persich.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions to the Mason Dixon Community Services, 5 Pendyrus ST, Suite 2, Delta, PA 17314, or to an animal shelter of one’s choosing.
