Obituary for Christine P. Jones
CHRISTINE P. JONES, 95 of Whiteford, MD died on Monday, October 26, 2020 in Pear Tree Assisted Living of Colora, MD. Born on April 16, 1925 in Lincolnton, NC, she was a daughter of the late Louis Felix and Lillian May (Smith) Steffan.
Christine was a member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church in Cardiff, MD and prior to her retirement, she had worked as a civil service employee for over 30 years. She began working for the US Navy in the shipyards of Norfolk, followed by service with the Army Corp of Engineers at Ft. Holabird, MD and finishing with the IRS. She will be remembered for attention to details, a loving mother and fondness of animals.
She is survived by her son, Juan Caschera and his wife, Jennifer of Whiteford, MD
She was preceded in death by:
Her first husband, Lester T. Merryman who died in 1984
Her second husband whom she met when a group of Welsh folks came from Cardiff, Wales to visit Cardiff, MD: David Gwynfryn Jones in 2015.
Her sisters: Marguerite Steffan in 2007 and Katherine L. Parker who died in 2012.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in Slate Ridge Cemetery, corner of Line and Griffith Roads, Delta, PA. Please gather at the tent for the services.
Her pastor, Reverend Kenneth Osborne of will officiate.
