Danny Ray Hoffman, 76, of Delta, PA, died at home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Danny was born in New York City to his late parents, Jacob C. and Mary E. (Perdew) Hoffman. He was married to his beloved bride, Kathleen C. Hoffman for 55 years at the time of his death.
Danny and Kathleen’s love story happened by chance while they were at the movies, watching “The Unsinkable Molly Brown”. They were attending the picture with their respective dates, when Kathleen’s charm and grace stole his heart. He spent the movie holding Kathleen’s hand, instead of the hand of the girl he took. From then on, their love story continued to blossom and grow. A true gentlemen, Danny would take Kathleen a rose every Friday evening. Together, they enjoyed dinner dates in Little Italy in Baltimore and traveling.
When Danny and Kathleen had children, he was the best and most devoted family man they could have asked for. He was always concerned for their welfare, working hard to ensure that they had everything they needed. He was present at all times. He nurtured his children’s love of music, Michael’s love of photography and traveled with his family to amusement parks, Ocean City and Washington, DC. He held his family in the highest regard. He will be remembered as a faithful, strong, ethical, smart, funny and kind man.
In addition to his beloved bride at home, Danny is survived by his children, Michael (Susan) Hoffman, of Delta, PA and Jennifer Hoffman and her significant other, Darryl Keller, of Arndtsville, PA. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Kristen Rose Faust and Matthew David Faust. He will also be lovingly missed by his faithful cat, Toby.
In addition to his parents, Danny was predeceased by his four siblings: Audra Mildenhall, Thomas Hoffman, Chuck Hoffman and George Hoffman.
At Danny’s request, all services will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., of Delta, PA.
