Obituary for Diana Carol Yucis (Wescott)

Diana Carol Yucis (Wescott), 81, of Delta, PA, and formerly of Cumberland, MD, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. She was the wife of the late Aloysius Boniface Yucis.

She was born on May 27, 1939, in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Howard A. and Dorothy (Wellslager) Wescott.

Diana is survived by her son, Christopher Luke Yucis and wife, Missy Day Reeves; Two grandchildren, Zachariah Christopher and Mariasoleil Yucis; Two step-grandchildren, Cameron and Sarah Saville; Three nephews, Brian Wescott and wife Tammy, Mark and Erik Wescott; Two great-nephews Jacob Wescott and wife Natalie, and Dillon Wescott; Sister-in-law Mary Bernard (Yucis); and extended family Melissa Brayman with parents Ronald and Ginette Brayman.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth G. Wescott.

For over 30 years, she and her late husband owned and operated the H&R Block Income Tax franchise office in Cumberland, MD. In her later years, she worked at Wal-Mart as a Jewelry Associate, volunteered at her local retirement center, and was a caretaker for the elderly.

She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cumberland and Aberdeen, MD. She was very active in her community and a member of the Cumberland Theatre, Bel Air Garden Club, and the TriState Community Concert Association, all located in Cumberland, MD.

Graveside funeral services and inurnment will be on Saturday, June 5 at 5:30 pm at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1021 St. Mary's Rd., Pylesville, MD 21132. All are welcome to attend.
