Donna Arlene Soskin (Snyder), 78, of Darnestown, Maryland, passed away on September 24, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Donna was born on April 5, 1942 in Lower Chanceford Township, Pennsylvania. She was the eldest child of William Henry Snyder II and Miriam Kathleen Snyder (Atkins).


Donna graduated from the York Hospital School of Nursing in 1963 and Johns Hopkins University in 1969 with a B.S. in Nursing. Donna is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald Soskin, two children, Carol Mayer and Douglas Soskin, son-in-law Christopher Mayer and daughter-in-law Heather Soskin, and grandchildren Calvin Mayer, Charlotte Mayer, Ryan Soskin and Paige Soskin. She is predeceased by her parents and sister Evelyn Kay Lloyd.


Donna was a hospital nurse, stay at home mother, insurance underwriter, and home health and hospice nurse. She also was a community volunteer who cooked and distributed meals to the needy. After retiring, Donna enjoyed spending time with her 4 grandchildren, gardening, baking, and camping. Donna was a master gardener who cultivated a variety of fruits and vegetables in her large garden.

Private services will be held for the family.
