Life story prepared by her family-
Donna Lee Burman, 79, of Street, Maryland, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, May 28, 2021. Born March 3, 1942, to the late Frederick H. and Mary Evelyn Meier (nee Goldsmith). She was raised in Baltimore City and graduated in 1960 from Parkville Senior high. She then worked for Westinghouse for several years.
Charles and Donna moved to Harford County in 1966. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising their 3 daughters, gardening, canning and caring for farm animals. She became quite involved with Highland Elementary School as a volunteer and during that time acquired many lifelong friendships. In 1974, she became the leader of the Cloverettes and Friends 4-H Club and continued in that position for 45 years. In those 45 years she organized many club meetings, judged records books, assembled fair packets, was a Superintendent of Woodworking/Welding at the Harford County Farm Fair, participated in the Leaders Association and she had the honor of being a 4-H Allstar. She had the pleasure of watching her 3 daughters and 9 grandchildren participate in the 4-H program. Donna’s patriotism was quite evident to those who knew her. She impressed upon her club members the importance of supporting our troops and this was done through sending homemade cards to our service men and women.
She was an active member of North Harford Baptist Church for over 40 years. She enjoyed supporting Vacation Bible School crafts, Tabitha Project and Samaritans Purse. Other memberships included Harford County Farm Bureau and Quilting on the Line. As a member of Quilting on the Line, she donated many quilts to abused children in Harford and York counties. In 2019, she was honored as one of Harford’s Most Beautiful People. She enjoyed making crafts, quilts and cards with her friends.
She is survived by her 3 daughters: Michele Mink (Gary), Karen Dawson, and Shannon Lewis (Marc), 9 grandchildren: Joshua, Jonathon, Stephen, Zachary, Chelsea, Taylor, Alex, Kyle and Cole and 2 great grandchildren: Olivia and Brantley. She is also survived by her sister, Marcia J. Clark. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Burman whom she had shared 57 years of marriage.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1 p.m. in Highview Memorial Gardens, 3433 Fallston Road, Fallston, MD 21047 with her pastor, Reverend John W. Manry of North Harford Baptist Church officiating.
