Ed was a lifetime resident of Delta. Born in 1935 to the late Edward and Mary Williams, Ed was the second oldest of six children. He then went to work at the Army base, Aberdeen Proving Ground, located in Maryland where he retired in 1990 at the age of 55.

He married the love of his life, Arlene in October 1962, after a long-distance courtship. Ed and Arlene were loving parents to their two children: Keith and Denise. Later in life, they would enjoy being proud grandparents to their two grandsons: Justin and Ryan and in 2020, great-grandparents to Coraline, daughter of Justin and his wife, Emily. In October 2021, Ed and Arlene celebrated 59 years of marriage; a month prior to Arlene’s passing.

Ed enjoyed gardening and feeding the neighborhood cats. In addition to a love of family, Ed was very sociable and known for his love of food and seeking out a good bargain. Most recently, he enjoyed going to breakfast with his son and friends every Sunday. He was also frequently seen over the recent years at church dinners and at the Delta Senior Center. He never met a stranger.
