Obituary for Guy Oliver Trude Jr.

Guy Oliver Trude, Jr., 92 of Fawn Grove, died at his home on Friday, April 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on December 7, 1929 in Clear Run, PA to his late parents, Guy Oliver Trude, Sr. and Irene Margaret (Clarke) Trude. Guy married the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Player) Trude on September 5, 1959.

Guy was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve and then the United States Air Force, serving honorably from 1951-1955. After being discharged from service, he worked as a Contract Officer for the United States Government. In his free time, Guy loved spending time at his cabin in Sinnemahoning, PA. He and Patricia built the cabin with their own hands, making it an extra special getaway for both of them. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, riding motorcycle and snow machine and driving his much loved truck. He was a member of Friendship Lodge 663, Free and Accepted Masons, Fawn Grove.

He was a man of strong faith and was willing to do anything for anyone, family or friend. Before becoming too ill, he was a member and regularly worshiped at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Fawn Grove. He attended many mission trips, including two in Alaska and several across the south. While relaxing, he enjoyed listening to hymns.

In addition to his loving wife Patricia at home, Guy is survived by one daughter: Mary Irene (Christopher) Grove of Woodbine, PA. Two grandchildren: Matthew Steven (Julia) Houck, of New Freedom, PA and Rachel Ann Houck, of Red Lion, PA, along with two great grandchildren: Wesley Oliver and Keira Marie Houck will forever cherish the memories of Guy. He is also survived by one sister: Lois Irene Shenkle, of DuBois, PA.

In addition to his parents, Guy was predeceased by two sisters, Jane Mack and Louise Spare and one brother, Ed Trude.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601, or https://act.alz.org/.
