Obituary for James William Brookhart

JAMES WILLIAM BROOKHART, 81, a United States Marine Corps veteran, died on Thursday, September 1, 2022 in York Hospital, York, PA. Beloved twin brother of the late Mary Lida Brookhart and brother to the late Chester Elsie Brookhart. Beloved son of the late Chester and Harriett (Sohn) Brookhart. Loving uncle of Pamela L. and the late John Michling; Michael K. Brookhart and his wife, Gail. Great uncle to three nephews: Jonathan M. and Justin David Milching; Michael N. Brookhart.

Jim was a lifetime resident of Baltimore, MD and a longtime employee of the former Rittenhouse Fuel Company where he served in the customer service department. He was a member of a bowling league for many years; enjoyed playing poker and was a referee for the former Baltimore Clippers when they played at the former Baltimore Civic Center. He watched many goals as well as attempts at scoring from behind the goalie box.

During Jim’s illness, he recently sold his home and moved in with his niece and her family. He had expressed his desire to thank them for their compassion. Jim had a contagious smile and kind spirit that will be missed.

Graveside inurnment services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the Goodwill Cemetery, 2564 Hess Road, Fallston, MD with military honors presented by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard for his service from August 17, 1960 till August 16, 1963. Officiating will be Reverend Danny Breidenbaugh of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Fallston, MD.
