Obituary for James Edward Morris
JAMES EDWARD MORRIS, 80 of Whiteford, MD, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Married on August 31, 1963, he had shared 33 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Margaret Ann “Peggy” (Scotten) Morris when she died in 1995. Jim was devoted to his wife and deeply missed her after she passed. In her memory, he continued to care for her gardens and flowers.
Born on March 17, 1942 at home in Harford County, MD, he was one of four children born to the late Walter Bradford Morris and Mabel Virginia (Bull) Morris. Jim had worked for 33 years as a Gradall Excavator operator with Harford County Department of Public Works. In retirement, he helped run farm equipment and offer his welding skills for many projects that required his expertise.
Jim was a familiar face at the counter at Delta Family Restaurant and Highs Convenience Store where he loved to make new friends and stay connected with everyone he knew. Jim was always willing to help others, had a great sense of humor and was known for his big heart and kindness. He had been affiliated with Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church where his family had worshipped for decades.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Marie Morris Jones, Walter Morris, Jr., and William Morris.
