Obituary for Jane N. Kranch

We are saddened to announce that Jane Neiffer Kranch passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Jane was born on February 1, 1936, in Pottstown, PA to the late F. Warren Neiffer and Martha (Smith) Neiffer. Her education was with the Pottstown School System where she excelled in sports receiving awards for swimming, softball and basketball. She graduated in 1954 from Pottstown High School. Following her graduation, she was employed as a secretary at Varcraft Paint Company in Pottstown and later with the Lower Pottsgrove School System in Sanatoga.

Jane was married to Daniel Dale Kranch (who preceded her in death in January 2012) on September 28, 1957, at the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Pottstown. The couple had three children: a daughter, Danielle K Wells, wife of Barry, of Fawn Grove, PA, a son James D Kranch of Pottstown, and a predeceased son, David K Kranch in November 2019. She leaves behind her dear sister, Phyllis Bauer, wife of Robert, of Easton, PA, Leslie Wenzel, wife of her late son of Pottstown, PA, beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

After raising her children, she went back to work at the Pottsgrove School System in 1975 as a secretary and retired in 1991. In retirement, she and her late husband participated in Bell Telephone Pioneers Volunteer Network devoting many hours to charitable service.

It did not matter if you were family or friend, her world revolved around service to others. She was a volunteer activities director at the Leader Home, an assisted living center in Pottstown. Jane spent many hours in her woodworking shop making toys and decorative items for the Leader Home Bazaar. She also sewed many quilts that were given to family members and residents of the Leader Home. Some of her quilts were sent to Haiti on a mission trip. Other volunteer organizations in which she participated include Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society.

Jane was a church secretary and Sunday school teacher for the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Pottstown in the 1960’s. Later she and her late husband attended Mountain View Chapel in Douglassville, PA.

It would honor Jane’s memory if you would make a charitable contribution to the volunteer organization of your choice in lieu of flowers.
