Obituary for Janet Ilene Fulcher
Janet Ilene Fulcher, 74, of Delta, PA died at her home on Friday, January 27, 2023. Janet was born in Baltimore, MD to her late parents, William L. and Gladys A. (Uplinger) O’Keefe. She was married to James Alden Fulcher who preceded her in death in 2013.
Janet was known to many as Mammy. She was a kind, pure hearted, compassionate, strong and giving woman. She lived by the statement that you were, “Never a stranger, always a new friend who always became family.” She worshiped at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Parkton, MD. Janet had numerous passions in her life including; photography, horses, cooking, reading, thumbing through cookbooks for new and adventurous recipes and being a nurturing force in every life she touched.
Her fun loving and free spirit was evident during trips with family and friends and while traveling down the backroads in a car with her loved ones. She enjoyed social trips to the grocery store and doting on her beloved grandsons. Janet was a beautiful and intelligent woman who will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Amy (Willy) Fulcher-Belt, of Delta, PA and Lauren (James “Taco”) Fulcher, also of Delta, PA and Steve (Allison) McCready. Her grandchildren; Jakey, Joey, Kody, Tommy, Tyler, Ethan, Mason and Rori will forever cherish her memories. She is also survived by one brother, Kevin O’Keefe, of Freeland, MD. In addition, Janet is survived by many loving friends and family, a sister-in-law Candi Bures and one nephew, David (Stacey) Bures.
In addition to her husband and parents, Janet was predeceased by one granddaughter, Hailey.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 4 until 7 pm at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. A funeral service will begin at 7 pm at the funeral home with Reverend James Shuler officiating. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
