Obituary for John B. Bair
JOHN B. BAIR, 87 of Dallastown, formerly of Red Lion, PA, died on Friday, November 26, 2021 in the Dallastown Nursing Center. He was the beloved husband of Connie (Leiphart) Bair and at the time of her death in 2002, they shared 49 years of marriage.
Born on December 26, 1933 on the family farm in lower York County, he was one of three children born to the late Newton Bair and Mabel (Barnett) Bair. John spent his adolescent years on the farm and was a graduate of the former Lower Chanceford School in Airville, PA. He was a 71-year member of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Sunnyburn, where he worked alongside his father and brother, George, continuing the family tradition of preparing the mashed potatoes for the annual turkey supper.
A self-employed craftsman, he built many houses from the ground up, did remodeling for homes, and worked on barns. A person can barely pass a structure traveling from Red Lion to the Mason-Dixon Line on Rt. 74 that he had not worked on. John was an avid outdoorsman spending countless hours hunting as well as sharing “Twin Hollow Hunting Club” cabin in Clinton County with his relatives. He was a soft-spoken man that was well-respected by family and friends. His loving spirit will be missed.

Kathy Smeltzer (Lewis) of Homosassa, FL
JoAnn Hinds (Scott) of Benezette, PA
A brother, George Bair of Sunnyburn, PA
Left to recall fond memories of their “Pap Paw” are five grandchildren-

Holly Kelly (Bruce)

And many great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Miller in 1990.
