Joseph F. “Joe” Ailes, age 85 years of Delta, PA died at York Hospital in York, PA at 2:05 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020. He was the husband of M. Lois (Harrington) Ailes with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage on September 2, 2020.

Born on January 8, 1935, at the Ailes Farm, Delta where he lived his entire life, he was the youngest of six children born to Edwin Hollingsworth and Pauline C. (Smith) Ailes. For 28 years he worked for Peach Bottom Township and also served as township supervisor for 30 years. In 1982, Joe was instrumental in obtaining HUD grants to pave the roads in Susquehanna Trails located in the township.

His farm life brought him the most enjoyment. He raised and bred various kinds of animals over the years including the aforementioned quarter-horses and beef cattle. Joe liked to hunt and fish.
