Obituary for Marvel Junior Bonham
Marvel Junior Bonham, 62, or Airville, died at home on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Marvel was born in Havre de Grace, MD to his father, Marvel Kermit Bonham and his mother, the late Alice Inez (Cochran) Stoltzfus. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, LaDonna (Kettell) Bonham.
Marvel worked for years as a State Highway Inspector for the State of Maryland. He and LaDonna most enjoyed spending time with their family; children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters. Marvel was a friend to everyone he met and so very loved by all.
In addition to his wife and father, Marvel is survived by one daughter; Jeanette Ann (Bonham) Burkholder and husband Clint, of Red Lion, PA, and two sons; Marvel Junior Bonham II and wife Janese, of Crossville, TN, and Jeremy Scott Bonham, of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Kyle Joseph Dettinger and wife Michelle, of Lindale, TX, Tyler Matthew Dettinger, of Crossville, TN, Dylan Colton Bonham, of Red Lion, PA, Hailey Nicole and Braelyn Mackenzie Burkins, of Red Lion, PA and four great-grandchildren; Mikey Joseph Anthony, Mason Alexander, Marcus Isaiah and Kristopher Elias Dettinger, all of Lindale, TX.
Three brothers; James Darrell Bonham, of Lancaster, PA, Craig Allen Bonham and John Berry Bonham, of Delta, PA and three sisters; Betty Faye Mellinger, of Delta, PA, Debra E. Prueitt, of Darlington, MD, and Tammy Lynn Brice of Conowingo, MD, all survive Marvel.
Stepfather Ronald Stoltzfus of Bedford, PA, mother-in-law Druell Kettell of Bel Air, MD, brothers-in-law Michael Kettell and wife Carrie of Pasadena, MD and Richard Kettell and wife Carol, of Street, MD. Several nieces and nephews also survive Marvel.
In addition to his mother, Marvel was predeceased by one son, Matthew Edgar Bonham.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314. A funeral service will be held at Harkins Funeral Home on Friday, January 14, 2022 beginning at 1 pm and interment will immediately follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York, PA.
