Obituary for Mary Alice Wallace
MARY ALICE WALLACE, 78 of Airville, PA, died on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in the WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital at Apple Hill Medical Campus in York, PA. She was the beloved wife for 57 years of Horace Monroe Wallace.
Born on May 16, 1943 in Essex, MD, she was one of five children born to the late Louis Grinage and Anna (Wright) Grinage and graduated from Kennwood High School in Baltimore, MD. Mary had worked as a beautician in her early years and was a caregiver in many local homes, caring for those in need with a loving and kind touch. A homemaker, she was known to be an exceptional cook, a dedicated mother and grandmother. Her generosity and smile will be missed.
Mrs. Wallace was a long time member of Chestnut Grove A.M.E. Church in Street, MD

A sister, Margaret Smith of Dundalk, MD
Twelve grandchildren-Xaria Watkins, Loren Marie Wallace, Leah Black, Gregory Wallace, Jr., Allisa Wallace, Daniel Watkins, Jose Abrantes, Nyanna Brown, Jacob Brown, Bishop Brown and Sayf Mehrouche.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Thelma Grinage, Milton Grinage and Sylvia Young.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with a viewing from 11:30 – 1:20 p.m. followed immediately with the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Her pastor, Reverend Dr. Harriett McCombs will preside. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove A.M.E. Cemetery, 828 Coen Road, Street, MD.
