Obituary for Melvin Elmer Cantler, Jr.
MELVIN ELMER CANTLER, JR., 73 of Darlington, MD died on Monday, November 28, 2022 in his home. Born on January 11, 1949, he was a son of the late Melvin Elmer Cantler, Sr. and Ovella Bertha (Creggar) Cantler.
Melvin was a lifetime resident of Harford County and graduated from North Harford High School in Pylesville, MD. He worked first as a carpenter in a local union followed with working at Harford Christian School in Darlington, MD in maintenance. Melvin was a longtime member of Reformation Bible Church that is associated with the school. He was known to be strong in his faith, and took care of everyone that he could. His smile and kind spirit will be missed.

A half-sister, Janet Cox of Wytheville, VA
Two nephews-
Jason (Karrie) and Justin Strickland
Three great nephews-Hogan, Jared and Sean Strickland and a great niece, Ava Strickland
He was preceded in death by a young sister, Linda Pearl Cantler.
Services will be held on Monday, December 6, 2022 in his church at 1736 Whiteford Road, Darlington, MD 21034 with a viewing from 9:30 -10:30 followed immediately with the funeral service. Reverend Dr. John McKnight and Reverend Adam Eshelman will co-officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the Cantler Family Plot in Fawn Grove, PA.
