Born in Baltimore, MD on June 10, 1932, he was the son of the late Walter D. and Ruth (Cook) North and graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. His last employment was for the former Fallston General Hospital where he worked as a painter. In 1999, Bud suffered a heart attached and decided to officially retire.

Bud and Helen were very active in church and church choirs at Jerusalem Lutheran, Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, both in Whiteford and later with the Fawn United Methodist Church. Sharing his vocal talent, he sang with the Bay Country Gentlemen, a barbershop choral group, in Harford County, MD.
